Make way for flying propellers

Today marks the beginning of a second life. Harry Potter, we're now born on the same date. HAHA.

This afternoon we started our thesis experiment. We're building our own aircraft. We were testing our newly-bought propellers using this setup our colleague made out of wood. At 50% of the battery power, our prototype was already up in the air by a few inches. The level wasn't as straight as it is so we're trying to fix that using a ruler.

Normally, in navigating aircrafts like these, you tilt down a wing and it goes to that direction. Our unit was slightly tilted, and the rotation was really fast the unit tried and successfully broke the support. The propeller hit the support, and it just came whooshing around.

We're building another one again...and try another flight experiment.
Next time , we'll do it with proper bounds. Mara, save us a net. RAWR.


And we were almost 2-3 feet away from a rotating propeller.

And it was scary, we were too stunned to move. At least somebody thought of removing the wire connected to the battery before the propeller continues to wreak havoc.

I'm quoting Rachel on this. Our lives are at stake for this thesis, but we didn't know that it would be quite literal. Today was a life-threatening experiment.

Let's do this again.
